In June, several members of our team took the opportunity to use their volunteering day, supporting two incredible local organisations: Africa Alive and the People for Animal Care Trust (PACT). These initiatives were organised by our CSR Team as part of our ongoing commitment to making a positive difference within our communities.

Split into two groups, colleagues spent the day at their chosen locations, gaining first-hand insight into the important work carried out by both organisations. Following introductory briefings from the teams on site, our volunteers quickly got stuck into a range of practical tasks that help keep these charities operating effectively behind the scenes.

At Africa Alive, colleagues assisted with practical projects that help maintain the environment and facilities that support both wildlife and visitors. The work was varied, rewarding and offered a valuable perspective on the dedication required to run such important organisations.

Meanwhile, at PACT, a charity dedicated to rescuing, rehabilitating and rehoming animals in need, volunteers supported the sanctuary team with a variety of hands-on activities that contribute to the welfare of the animals in their care.

Volunteering days provide our colleagues with the opportunity to step away from their usual roles and contribute their time and skills to causes that have a meaningful impact locally. Beyond the practical support provided, these experiences also help strengthen teamwork, encourage personal development and foster a deeper connection with the communities around us.

We’re incredibly grateful to the teams at Africa Alive and PACT for welcoming our volunteers and taking the time to share more about their work. Their passion, commitment and enthusiasm made the day both enjoyable and inspiring for everyone involved.

We would also like to extend our thanks to our CSR Team for organising these opportunities and helping colleagues make the most of their volunteering days.

Supporting our local communities remains an important part of our culture, and we look forward to continuing to contribute to initiatives that make a meaningful difference.
