SGWM MD Stephen Girling's New Year message

I would like to take this opportunity to wish you and your families a happy and healthy New Year – I’m sure we all hope 2021 is a better year than the last, in so many ways.

As I write, the COVID-19 pandemic sadly rages on. However, I’d like to reassure you that we remain open for business, are fully contactable and that both our Ipswich and Norwich offices have been completely adapted for the safety of both our staff and clients. Whilst the majority of our staff continue to work from home, we continually monitor the guidelines and are totally operational during the current ‘normal’. Our Wealth Managers are very happy to arrange virtual meetings and we continue to encourage you to take the long-term view in terms of investment. Things WILL eventually settle, as they always do.

We recently contributed to The Benjamin Foundation’s Christmas Gift Appeal and this year we will be continuing to support the work of this excellent charity, along with our other charitable partners Norfolk Wildlife Trust, Suffolk Wildlife Trust and Rick Bowden Photography – whose beautiful local landscape images you will be seeing more of in our communications. We’re also continuing our sponsorship of Ipswich Rugby Club and Norwich Baroque – let’s hope both can be up and running again with games and concerts as soon as possible.

Our next webinar is at 11am on Thursday 21 January. This event features a review of our 2020 portfolio adaptations and latest Quarterly Investment Commentary with Chief Investment Officer Henry Gaskin, plus a look ahead to the economic trends and projections for 2021 with guest speaker Ben Kumar, Senior Investment Strategist at 7iM. It should be very interesting, so I do hope you’ll be joining us! Register for the next webinar here..

With very best wishes for the coming year.
